Reading

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

During my internship year, every student had a chapter book and other books of their interest in their desks. Whenever they finished their work, they were expected to do something productive, such as reading, writing, practing cursive, math, or sudoku.

During 'center time' students also had the chance to read in some stations: read to self, read to someone, math, work on words, and writing. I plan to expland the use of centers in the future.

I also taught several reading comprehension practices, such as connections, predictions, inferences, and questioning.
